- EMT-Intermediates or Paramedics may provide advanced airway management as indicated and may utilize Emergent Airway protocols if in place
- Intermediates/Paramedics will initiate an IV of normal saline and monitor the patient's hemodynamic status
- Administer fluid bolus to maintain a systolic blood pressure of 100mmHg
- Paramedics will apply the cardiac monitor and manage dysrhythmias per protocol
- Mild Distress
- Monitor closely for symptoms of severe distress to develop
- Administer Diphenhydramine (Benadryl)
- Administer Albuterol as needed
- For patients with a known adrenal insufficiency Medical Control may order the administration of Hydrocortisone or Methylprednisolone.
