- A multi-center study was completed with a retrospective evaluation of all patients that received aspirin in the prehospital setting from August 1993 to January 2000
- The objective of this research was to evaluate any adverse effects of the administration of aspirin by prehospital providers
- The adverse reactions that were looked for in this study were;
- allergic reaction (rash,dyspnea)
- A total of 25,600 EMS runs
- 585 patients had received aspirin prior to EMS intervention
- 893 patients were given aspirin by an EMS provider
