It is your first call on your local EMS service. Your partner jokes that he has been an EMT for years and cannot believe he got stuck with a rookie. The radio sounds and you head off to your first call.
You arrive on scene to find a 55-year-old male who is complaining of achy chest pain. He states the pain started at approximately 2pm while walking up his stairs and is associated with mild shortness of breath. He describes the pain as a dull ache in the middle of his chest that does not radiate.
You observe the mildly obese male sitting in a chair and he is diaphoretic. You interview the patient and he reports a history of diabetes and hypertension. He is not on any medications. | | | | | | |
