  • Peptic ulcer disease
  • Platelet disorders
  • Anticoagulant therapy (Coumadin, Lovenox)
  • Hypoprothrombinemia (abnormally small amounts of prothrombin in the circulating blood)
  • Asthma
  • Not recommend for the pediatric population
Contraindications
  • Hypersensitivities to salicylates
  • Active bleeding
  • Pregnancy (aspirin is a Class D medication in pregnancy)

  • Gastrointestinal irritation
  • Gastrointestinal bleeding
  • Nausea and vomiting
  • Tinnitus
  • Hearing loss
  • Hematoxicity
  • Renal dysfunction
