EMS providers who will be in direct contact or within patient care areas should don (put on) the following protective equipment:
- N-95 respirator or higher-level respirator or facemask
- Facemask as an option if no N-95 masks are available secondary to a shortage
- Eye protection that fully cover the front and sides of the face
- A single pair of disposable patient examination gloves
Certain N-95 respirators are out-of-stock and not attainable. Until the supply chain can be restored the use of a surgical facemask will be sufficient. [10]
