| COVID-19 is a novel coronavirus. Novel meaning “it is new to us.” This specific coronavirus has just been discovered. At the time of this program it has been known for almost 4 months (discovered in December 2019). As a result of this being a new type of coronavirus there is a lot that is unknown. Coronaviruses typically don't affect humans, in fact there are only six other coronaviruses that we know of that actually infect humans. They are all similar in that they tend to act just like a common cold but there are a few that really cause concern. [1]
