Heart Failure and the Ventricular Assist Device (LVAD)

Left Main Coronary Artery (LCA)
The LCA bifurcates within a few centimeters of the origin and creates the left anterior descending (LAD) and the left circumflex artery (LCX). The LAD proceeds down the heart between the two ventricles.  The LCX travels around the side of the heart between the left atrium and the left ventricle.
