Heart Failure and the Ventricular Assist Device (LVAD)

Cardiac Catheterization and Electrophysiology
Cardiac catheterization is a minimally invasive procedure that is used to diagnose or treat certain cardiovascular complications.  The catheterization procedure can determine adequate blood flow through the heart and determine risks for heart failure.

Electrophysiology tests and procedures include pacemaker / defibrillator implantation and cardiac ablation.  Pacemaker / defibrillators will assist with the electrical condition within the heart ensuring adequate contraction of the ventricles.  Cardiac ablation is a procedure used to destroy damaged heart tissue that may have been causing serious heart arrhythmias.
