- Check the percutaneous lead to ensure it is connected to the System Controller
- Check that both System Controller power leads are connected to power
- Check the battery fuel gauge
- Check the System Controller for Active Alarms
- Connect ECG to patient (if possible)
- Follow BLS / ACLS Guidelines as indicated
- Contact VAD Coordinator
Caution
- Avoid cutting the percutaneous or power leads
- Keep the percutaneous lead close to the patient
- Keep the System Controller dry at all times
