As with other narcotic analgesics, the most common adverse reactions are respiratory depression and/or apnea. Fentanyl also poses the risk of chest wall rigidity if administered too quickly via the intravenous route.
Rapid IV administration may cause chest wall rigidity in some patients. Intravenous administration should be delivered over 1-2 minutes. [32] |
