Stroke

Ischemic Stroke Syndromes

Cerebellar Stroke
Vertigo, gait instability, limb weakness as well as difficulty controlling them, headache, speech difficulty, nausea and vomiting and cranial nerve abnormalities are all common with this type of stroke.

CT imaging may miss cerebellar strokes due to interference of bone and the generation of artifact.  An emergent MRI should be obtained when a cerebellar stroke is suspected.  Rapid deterioration from increased intracranial pressure can quickly result in brain herniation and death. [46]
