The ICS is an on-scene incident management system, which allows responders to adopt and follow a pre-established and common process for the management of all resources on scene. The system has flexibility allowing this to be modified to meet the needs of any specific incident. This has evolved over decades from lessons learned from the management of other emergency incidents. [1]
