Within the Planning Section are the following units:
- Resources Unit: Responsible for recording the status of the incident and plays an integral role in preparing the IAP.
- Situation Unit: Responsible for collection, organization and analysis of Incident status information. They also analyze the situation as it progresses.
- Demobilization Unit: Responsible for the orderly, safe and cost-effective release of resources.
- Documentation Unit: Collects, records, and safeguards all documents related to the incident
- Technical Specialist: Personnel with special skills that can be used anywhere within the ICS system [4, 5]
