The Logistics Section is responsible for providing resources and service requirements needed to meet the incident objectives. This includes ordering resources from other locations as necessary. Six primary units fulfill requirements within the Logistics Section.
- Supply Unit: Orders, receives, stores and processes all incident related resources and material
- Ground Support Unit: Provides all ground transportation during the incident and prepares the Transportation Plan.
- Facilities Unit: Sets up, maintains and demobilizes all facilities used during the incident. They also provide security services required to support the incident.
- Food Unit: Responsible to obtain food and water requirements for the incident.
- Communications Unit: Responsible for setting up effective communications (Incident Communications Plan) as well as maintaining and accounting for communication equipment.
- Medical Unit: Responsible for effective and efficient medical services to incident personnel as well as developing the Medical Plan. [4, 5]
