Also in the early 1970’s, the Phoenix Fire Department developed what is known as the Fire Ground Command System. Many of the elements of this program were similar to FIRESCOPE but there were differences in the terminology and organizational structure.


In 1987, the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) undertook the development of NFPA 1561, Standard on Fire Department Incident Management System. [1]
