Head Trauma

Patients who are struck in the temporal region are also at high risk for bleeding beneath the skull.  The temporal bone is relatively weak and the middle meningeal artery and vein also run behind the bone.  

Patients with head trauma may display the following signs and symptoms:

  • Decorticate Posturing
  • Decerebrate Posturing
  • Irregular Breathing Patterns
  • Altered Mental Status
