The electrical impulses delivered by the Taser" override the nerves and cause the muscle group"s involved to contract. In most cases these electrical impulses make it virtually impossible for the subject to resist. The official term for this effect is Neuro-Muscular Incapacitation.
One of the authors of this lecture has been struck with a Taser" on two occasions, on both occasions he was unable to voluntarily provide any resistance and was guided to the ground. |
