| A regular bite to the arm or leg will most likely cause some type of crush injury from the intense jaw pressure, some bleeding from the puncture of the teeth and possibly some skin or muscle tearing from the K9 thrashing back and forth.
Treatment for these injuries may include the following treatment:
- Cleanse the area with normal saline, sterile water or irrigate with clean water
- Check affected limb for Pulse, Motor and Sensory function
- Apply a proper dressing to cover the wound
- Find a position of comfort and splint in place if applicable
- Pain management could be considered an ALS intervention
