- Many patients with PE will have EKG abnormalities, and many do not
- Its diagnostic usefulness is questionable, as it is not very sensitive
- Findings include:
- Non-specific ST abnormalities
- Sinus tachycardia
- Right heart strain
- Peak P wave in lead II
- Atrial fibrillation
- Right bundle branch block [18]
- The "S1, Q3, T3" pattern is considered suggestive of a PE (12-15%) [18]
