The carotid arteries and jugular veins comprise the major blood vessels surrounding the neck. The superior cricothyroid vessels cross the superior portion of the cricothyroid membrane. In addition, the middle thyroid veins and the anterior jugular veins lie laterally on each side of the cricothyroid membrane. [2, 3]
