Similar to hands-only CPR, this is what it boils down to in the event of equipment failure. Whenever attempting a digital intubation you must ensure that the patient is unresponsive and will remain unresponsive during your attempt. Other indications of a digital intubation include:
- Cardiac arrest
- Equipment failure
- Unable to visualize anatomical structures (vomit / blood in airway)
