The open cricothyrotomy, also known as a Surgical Cric is a method of obtaining a definitive airway. It is the most invasive technique and has the most severe complications. It is another failed airway alternative that should be used by only experienced pre-hospital providers who have been specifically trained in this method. The days of removing the scalpel out of the OB kit are beyond us. |
