Latent TB
Not everyone infected with Mycobacterium Tuberculosis gets infectious TB
Some people are exposed and remain without symptoms
  • Latent TB
  • At this time they are not contagious and do not spread the disease
If this same person with latent TB begins to get sick the latent bacteria begins to multiply and produce symptoms associated with TB disease.  These patients are contagious and can spread the disease

People that are exposed to the TB bacteria and don't get sick may get sick years later when other disease have attack their bodies and their immune system is compromised [5]
