Recurrent infections
When an individual has type 2 diabetes mellitus, the body’s processes of healing are retarded. This is because sugar thickens the blood, so it does not flow as quickly and smoothly. This can be a major cause of recurrent infections, particularly in areas that are overexposed to the external environment, which makes it easy for infections to develop. The most common symptoms among Type 2 diabetics are skin and genital infections. [21]
