Physiology
Physiology is the study of bodily functions. Diabetes mellitus is a disease that interferes with the body metabolizing sugar effectively. There are three forms of Diabetes:
- Type 1
- Insulin Dependent
- Injections are given daily / multiple times per day (depends on patient needs)
- Type II
- Non-insulin dependent
- Controlled by medications or diet
- Gestational
- Occurs during pregnancy [2]
