Impact Weapons - Baton

Strikes or jabs that make contact with areas that can lead to serious injury, permanent injury or death need to be closely examined. When completing the primary and secondary survey on individuals that have been struck with the baton, think about the vital structures that are below it. 

These areas can include, but are not limited to:

  • Head
  • Neck 
  • Collar bone / clavicle
  • Chest
  • Abdomen
  • Back
  • Spine
