The majority of injuries that occur from the Taser® may not actually be from the Taser® itself, but from the fall the subject sustains after being struck with the Taser®. As the subject is in the process of being struck with the Taser® he/she is unable to fall in a controlled descent. This uncontrolled descent sometimes causes the subject to fall quickly and in some cases to strike an object on the way down with a part of their body.
