Aerosol/Chemical Agents

Oleoresin Capsicum (OC) has gained acceptance in law enforcement at the spray of choice. OC is derived from the capsicum pepper plant (cayenne pepper) and is deployed via an array of dispensers as seen here. As we know, there are several respiratory symptoms that develop after exposure to OC. Law enforcement officials should be aware of the signs and symptoms of respiratory distress and despite several studies use caution with the physical restraint of subjects. [8,9]
