OB Emergencies Maternal Complications in Pregnancy

Signs of approaching labor
During the patient’s prenatal visits, she will be informed about changes that will signal the imminent onset of labor. These signs include: lightening, which is the descent of the fetus into the brim of the pelvis. In a primigravida, lightening occurs in the last 10 to 14 days of a pregnancy and the mother may identify this dropping of the fetus by being able to breathe easier.
