Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome

How is SARS Treated?
  • Currently, there is NO prophylaxis or treatment for the SARS-CoV.
  • No anti-viral treatment has shown to be effective.
  • No controlled clinical trials have been conducted to assess the effectiveness of medications (such as ribavirin and corticosteroids).
  • It is still unclear if persons who recover from the SARS-CoV develop protective immunity or if they are susceptible to becoming infected again.[6][7]
