Toxicological Emergencies

Available Resource: The most common readily available resource for any toxicological emergency is the National Poison Control Center. This free resource is only a phone call or a click away for use by any and all EMS providers. Rather than guess or “Google search” signs, symptoms, treatments etc… make the phone call.  The 24-7 phone number is (800) 222–1222.

The Poison Control Center also offers awebsite (www.webPoisonControl.org).

These are resources that allow the caller / user to remain anonymous and to obtain directions from qualified healthcare professionals who specialize in toxicological emergencies. The providers may be able to provide instructions or facilitate transport decisions based upon the emergency.
