Delivering the baby
3. WHEN THE BABY"S HEAD EMERGES: - DO NOT PULL ON THE BABY"S HEAD OR ON THE UMBILICAL CORD. You may cause nerve damage if you do so.

4. IF THE CORD IS WRAPPED AROUND THE INFANT"S NECK, DO NOT PULL ON IT, BUT LIFT IT CAREFULLY OVER THE BABY"S HEAD SO THE BABY'S HEAD CAN BE DELIVERED.

IF THE BUTTOCKS OR FEET COME OUT FIRST, THIS IS A BREECH BIRTH, WHICH WILL BE COVERED IN A LATER SECTION OF THIS LECTURE.
